Speakers
SummaryThis presentation will address the risks common for individuals and families and the use of personal lines coverage forms such as homeowner, personal auto and personal umbrella/excess policies as tools to finance risk. We will use real life claim scenarios to ‘dig in’ to Personal Lines policy language in order to show both the newer and the seasoned agent that it is not what you THINK the policy says, but what the policy ACTUALLY says that is vital in coverage determination. The scenarios are colorful and humorous and require participants to understand how dissecting the coverage forms is vital in determining coverage and eliminating gaps.
Risk Management In An Hour (1 CE)Tuesday 8am - 8:50am LocationEmbassy Suites - La Vista
Speakers
SummaryCan you take a deep dive in an hour when it comes to Risk Management? No. But what we can do is remind ourselves of and focus on key principles that should always be included in every discussion of Risk Management. PLUS, you’ll be able to briefly explain and show your clients and prospects EXACTLY what they need to know to make informed insurance purchasing decisions.
Risk Management, properly understood and utilized, is the essential basis (or should be) for all insurance buying decisions. Too many buyers of insurance purchase it because they always have, rather than going through a disciplined approach to determining their true need of insurance vs. where and when to self-insure. That’s what we will tackle in this one-hour overview of Risk Management.

Vital Personal Lines Endorsements (1 CE)Tuesday 9am - 9:50am LocationEmbassy Suites - La Vista
Speakers
SummaryWhile the ISO Homeowner’s and Personal Automobile Policy forms may seem quite broad in many areas, the unendorsed versions of these policies often contain significant coverage gaps. These gaps can have significant financial implications for the clients we serve. This presentation highlights a number of often overlooked, yet very vital, endorsements that should be discussed with our clients to provide necessary coverage enhancements for their unique needs.
The Personal Auto Policy – A Friendly Little Fella, Until it Isn’t - Liability Focus (1CE)Tuesday 1:30pm - 2:20pm LocationEmbassy Suites - La Vista
Speakers
SummaryFrom a LIABILITY standpoint, the Personal Auto Policy is 'an answer looking for a question’. There are nearly 275,000,000 registered vehicles on US roads. Many of these vehicles are commercial autos and best served with commercial auto coverage forms and endorsements. The Personal Auto Policy (PAP) is used for many of the remaining vehicle risks. This likely makes the PAP the most often written coverage form in our industry. If a person has only one policy, it is most likely a Personal Auto Policy. Still, this coverage form has many ‘mysteries’ – for both the insurance professional and the policyholder. This presentation will address a few liability concerns in the PAP and will provide information on endorsements that should be considered for nearly every Personal Auto risk.

Commercial Building Valuations (1 CE)Tuesday 1:30pm - 2:20pm LocationEmbassy Suites - La Vista
Speakers
SummarySorry, we cannot provide you with an 100% accurate manner of evaluation the replacement cost of any structure…let alone yours, or your clients – regardless of type, size, construction or multiple other factors. What we can do, however, is provide you with multiple sources and guidelines to assist you so that you can assist your customers in determining – at least to some degree of certainty – a reasonable building valuation. After all, the ONLY way to truly figure out how much is needed to rebuild ANY structure is to look at it immediately after the loss and with 100% knowledge of all appropriate factors – local and otherwise. As some of our attendees focus more on personal insurance than commercial, we will recognize this potential overlap in our discussion.

This likely makes the PAP the most often written coverage form in our industry. If a person has only one policy, it is most likely a Personal Auto Policy. Still, this coverage form has many ‘mysteries’ – for both the insurance professional and the policyholder.
